Abstract
Pavement materials devised design, color and others have lately been used, which is one of considerations for comfort of pedestrians’ space and universal design. However, numerical standard on hardness of sidewalk is hardly fixed from pleasant walking viewpoint. This report researched that characteristics of pavement materials affected pedestrians by measuring acceleration of pedestrians’ ankles and questionnaire survey.As the result, corrugation of acceleration on subjects who sensed hardness of sidewalk surface showed distinction.
