Abstract
This study examined conducted questionnaire survey to clarify the purchase intention and criteria for purchasing second hand home appliance(s HA) targeting consumers who are planning to buy HA within a year. The results showed that approximately 86.3 percent of respondents, who didn’t consider buying second hand HA in the first stage of the survey, changed their intention to take into account the purchase it as the accepted standard of second hand HA change when the terms and condition of the products have been suggested in the second stage. At that time, “Condition of the product” was the most important criteria to accept second hand HA by respondents, and other criteria about “Period of use” and “Cost” was followed. Respondents who are considering the purchase of second hand HA such as “YES” group tend to prefer “practical use” to “personal taste” compared to respondents belong to “NO” group when choosing HA.
