Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the differences in employee management on farms that employ persons with disabilities, categorized as workshops of types A or B according to the scheme that supports continuous employment under the Services and Supports for Persons with Disabilities Act of 2006. The results from interviews with managers of workshops in the Okayama and Oita prefectures are as follows: (1) Both types of workshops are conducted to support persons with disabilities, and are based on the individual’s characteristics or farm characteristics. (2) Workshops of type A consider the managerial perspective to be important, while workshops of type B emphasize the importance of the welfare of persons with disabilities.
