Abstract

We have researched the landscape elements that constitute the scenic views of the Naruto Strait. The landscape composition has been categorized into 11 types, including excellent viewpoints characterized by multiple layers of foreground, middle ground, and background views. Seven visually disturbing elements have been identified, such as a bridge, modern buildings, and roads visually interfering with the natural landscape elements. The bridge's visual presence impacts the view of the Place of Scenic Beauty on the strait, as well as the buildings and roads on the opposite hillside in areas of high visibility. Viewshed analysis has indicated the importance of the mountainous area outside the national park.
