Study on Town Planning with Measures for Thermal Environment by Utilizing Regional Characteristic

Survey of Thermal Environment in Shopping Street with Arcade

Abstract

In order to promote city planning with adaptation for thermal environment by utilizing regional characteristic, the surveys were conducted in shopping street with arcade. From the results of measurements, the effects of mitigating thermal environment by arcade is confirmed. In addition, it was able to verify the effects of heat stress reduction during walking under arcade. In the future, as the temperature rises and the aging progresses, to maintain the arcade mall as a space where elderly people can walk and shop with peace of mind, a new added value as the adaptation to climate change such as thermal countermeasures, was examined.
