Abstract

Threat level assessment for ecosystem services has not been done so far, though Maron et al. (2017) developed the method. This study assessed threat level of cultural heritage value referring to Marons' method and revealed its potential and limitation. Designated number of cultural properties as supply indicator and percentage of respondents showing policy needs to cultural promotion in regular policy poll of Nagasaki Prefecture as demand indicator were used. The assessment result concluded that target cultural service was under “stable but undersupplied” category, which means its threat level is low although supply is insufficient. The limitation of this method are difficulties of setting the same unit for both supply and demand indicator and of obtaining time series data.
