Abstract

Consideration of the local opinion is necessary to promote decommissioning project steadily. This paper discusses how to conduct the public participation in the decommissioning planning process by focusing on a local dialogue of Savannah River Site Citizen Advisory Board. The result shows that public participation at an early stage and active feedback from the government are required to make the local dialogue effective. Furthermore, it reveals that active participation of the government, collaboration among board members, and representative membership are important to realize the feedback. Key Words
