Abstract

CCS is one of the technologies being developed for total decarbonization. The purpose of this study was to quantitatively examine the effect of factors such as trust, usefulness, perceived risk, perceived benefit, and NIMBY on the acceptance of CCS technology in the People's Republic of China, where greenhouse gas emissions are high and experimental CCS operations are being conducted, by referring to previous studies on social acceptance and risk studies. The effects of trust, usefulness, perceived risk, perceived benefit, and NIMBY factors on acceptance of CCS technology were examined quantitatively. Furthermore, we attempted to analyze and evaluate what information about CCS influences acceptance and how.
