Abstract
This study revealed the potential of citizen-participatory playwriting workshops based on everyday life to contribute to subject formation in a highly information-consuming society.A qualitative analysis was conducted on free-response questionnaires collected from participants in a workshop held in Toshima Ward, Tokyo. Nine categories were extracted as characteristics of the participants' experiences. These were organized from the perspective of subject formation, and their usefulness in creating dialogic communication and promoting self-reflection was pointed out. The usefulness of this method as a means of verbalizing environmental factors was also suggested.
