Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop greening porous concrete plates using natural zeolite as a coarse aggregate, a fine aggregate and a mineral admixture. This study also describes investigations for increment of strengths of the porous concrete plates. For attainment of those purposes, experimental investigation for physical and mechanical properties of those concrete was carried out in order to evaluate effects of mix proportion factors on those properties of the porous concrete. Additionally, two layer plate specimens composed to porous concrete using an ordinal aggregate as a bottom layer and the concrete incorporated a natural zeolite powder as the admixture and using natural zeolite aggregates were also manufactured. Thus, mechanical properties of the composite porous concrete plate specimens were also investigated in order to increase flexural strength of the porous concrete plates. As a result from the experimental investigations, incorporation of natural zeolite powder to the porous concrete increased compressive and flexural strength of the porous concrete specimens. And also, increment of absolute volume ratio of paste to aggregate as a one of the mix proportion factors of the porous concrete also grew up the strengths. Furthermore the two layer composite porous concrete plate showed higher flexural strength than uniform plates manufactured by using only the porous concrete incorporated the zeolite powder.
