Abstract
Many ready-mixed-concrete factories which are near to cement production factories are often employing cement of high temperature. Properties of fresh concrete with high temperature cement have not been investigated in spite of such situation. Because the volume of cement is extremely smaller than volume of other components of concrete, temperature of cement has been hardly considered into mix proportion of concrete.
The purpose of the present study is to evaluate experimentally properties of fresh concrete with high temperature cement. In this study, slump property and adiabatic temperature rise were especially investigated in order to obtain the influence of high temperature cement.
As the results, slump loss of concrete with high temperature cement was larger than that with normal temperature. But, the slump right after mixing was almost equal in concrete with high temperature cement and normal temperature cement. Slump loss of concrete with high temperature cement depended on the brand of admixture too. In case of use the high-temperature cement, slump-losses of concrete had tendency to be greater than that of mortar. Concrete with high temperature cement, which made by the double mixing, has higher slump than that of normal mixing, but its slump was almost equal to that of normal mixing after 30 minutes. The adiabatic temperature rises of concrete with high temperature cement were earlier than that of normal temperature.
