1) CS-1170 was administered to 18 cases of moderate infection (including 12 cases of internal genitals infection) and the effective rate of 94% was obtained.
2) In our study, 88% of bacteria was either E. coli or combinations involving E. coli, and as the MIC value of CS-1170 on E. coli was very favorable, the outstanding clinical results. could be obtained.
3) Susceptibility of E. coli to various drugs was tested by single concentration disk method. Many strains of E. coli were insensitive to ampicillin, carbenicillin, sulbenicillin and chloramphenicol, and some of the strains were even insusceptible to cephaloridine, cephalexin and cephalothin.
4) Subjective and objective symptoms of side effects as well as abnormal values in laboratory tests were not observed even in the case of continuous administration of a total of 80 g over a 40-day period.
5) Tissue concentrations, especially in the ovary-oviduct system, were maintained at high levels for 3 to 5 hours after the administration. Based on the above, we consider CS-1170 to be an effective and safe agent against infectious diseases in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
