Abstract
Sultamicillin administered to 14 patients with respiratory tract infection. The clinical effectiveness was good in 6 patients, fair in 6 and poor in 2. The clinical effective rate was 42.8%.
As side effects, one case showed slight eleva ion of S-GPT and γ-GTP in serum, one case showed slight elevation of Al-P in serum, one case showed u-cast. These side effects improved rapidly without treatment.
The causative organisms were able to isolate from 9 cases: S. pneumoniae; one case, H. influenzae; 6 cases, B. catarrhalis; one case, S. pneumoniae and H. influenzae; one case.
Five organisms were not yielded after administration of Sultamicillin. H. influenzae was isolated persistently in 3 cases and H. influenzae was exchanged to P. aeruginosa in one case.
