Abstract
Cefpirome (CPR) was administered to 16 patients with complicated urinary tract infections at a dose of 1g or 0.5g twice daily for 5days. The clinical efficacy in 13 cases evaluated by the Japanese UTI Committee criteria was excellent in 4, moderate in 4 and poor in 5 cases. The overall efficacy rate was 61.5%. Adverse reactions were observed in 3 cases (rash, chest pain and dyspnea in 1, diarrhea and loss of appetite in 1, and loose stool in 1).
