Abstract

1) Among the leguminous grasses hairy vetch, wisteria, Lotus corniculatus L., Robinia Pseudo-A-cacia L., Medicago denticulata Willd, japan clover, Lespedeza sericea Miq., soy bean and blue lupine contained some amounts of urease, but other 27 kinds of ordinary leguminous grasses contained little.
2) About 60 kinds of another grasses contained little, excepting Chenopodium album L., Gnaphalium multiceps Wall, Lumex Acetosella L., pumpkin.
3) The content of urease decreased when the grasses were dried.
4) Among the seeds soy bean, Dunbaria villosa Makino (Hime kuzu), pumpkin, water melon contained large amount of urease, but another seeds contained little.
5) Ordinary byproduct feeds contained little, excepting soy bean cake.
6) Rumen contents contained sometimesa small amount of urease.
