Abstract
The author investigated the blood flow in capillaries by the application of negative pressure, combinning with adrenalin-or pilocarpin-injection on 59 patients.1) The blood filling increases no sooner than the beginning of negative pressuring in all cases.2) Stopping the pressuring, the blood filling decreases swiftly and all the capillaries become empty for 10∼20 seconds-'pale phenomenon'-, and after this, the blood filling becomes either the same condition as before pressuring, or rather better than that according to the kinds of disease.3) The pale phenomenon is seen because of 2 reasons. One is the reactive contraction or obliteration of arteriola and capillary, another is the flowing out of blood from capillary to vena which due to the heart function as a suction pump.
