Abstract
Several useful methods for evaluating cardiac function by means of atrial pacing were introduced with illustration of the cases studied in our laboratory following the respective methods, and the results were briefly discussed. Specially we presented the preliminary results of our trails in estimating cardiac function by means of two pacing catheter tips which were utilized as metal markers reported by Glick et al. Mean shortening velocity of distances between two catheter tips was highly correlated with mean VCF measured by cineangiography following Kaliner's method. The left ventricular dimension curve obtained by using two catheter tips appears to relect well the changes in the ventricular size.
