Morphological character value involved in the changes of yarn directions, flare angles and the thickness of the cloth was obtained by the method of dispension analysis. Moreover, a study has been made of the relation between sensory valuation of beauty and morphological character value. As a result, the following three points were revealed.
1. Drape coefficient of morphological character value was related to yarn directions, flare angles and the thickness of the cloth. Yarn directions with regular bias in the center had the smallest value, while flare angles with wider-angles and thiner cloth had a tendency to have smaller value.
Nodes' exponent showed significant difference in flare angles of thick cloth, and there was a tendency for the value to become smaller in inverse proportion to the width of flare angles.
The number of nodes was significantly different in flare angles of medium thick cloth and thick cloth, and the number of nodes increased in proportion to the width of flare angles.
The floating rate of valley height and the floating rate of moutain height showed no significant difference in any factor.
2. Sensory valuation had relation to yarn directions with the result of the highest valuation on regular bias in the center.
3. The relation between morphological character value and sensory valuation showed a high correlation in the number of nodes and the floating rate of valley height.
