The State of the Art on Gas Pressure Welding Technique on Steel Bar

Abstract

Nearly 30 years have been passed since gas pressure welding method found genneral acceptance as a joint of steel bar. In the meanwhile, standard specification for both civil engineering and architectural institutes of Japan was established. And many techniques, which are automatic gas pressure welding method, welding of steel bar manufacturing by electric furnace, and application for high strength or large-diameter steel bars like SD 40 and D 51, have been progressed successfully. Furthermore, ultrasonic testing method as nondestructive testing method was settled.
