Biaxial Flexural Strength and Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete Columns

Abstract

There have so far been several experimental studies done mostly in Japan during the last decade on the reinforced concrete columns subjected to biaxial bending and shear. Most of the studies have been initiated in the light of various buildings damages due to recent destructive earthquakes. The aim of this paper is to review these investigations and to propose the equations for evaluating the biaxial flexural strength and shear strength, through the analyses of these test results.
