Application of High Strength Concrete to a Ten Story Condominiums constructed by “Reinforced Concrete Layered Construction System”

Abstract

High strength concrete was employed for construction of a ten story condominiums constructed by “Reinforced Concrete Layered construction system” developed by Taisei Corporation. By this construction system, precast beams and walls are combined with cast-in-place columns by placing slab concrete to form a monolithic structure. Most of papers on high strength concrete having a design strength of more than 360 kgf/cm² presented so far merely describes the results of laboratory tests. This paper reports the records of production, placing and quality control of high strength concrete of about 2000m³ for actual structures produced in the time period of three months.
