Abstract
The wall girder-column type rigid frame structure has been in the limelight at present as one of the structural types. In this paper, the transition of the structural types for multiple dwelling houses and the recent trend of the concepts for the houses as the middle and the high rise buildings and summary for this structural type are mentioned. The nucleus of the research and development for this type is the HFW R & D project. The operational organization, research contents, results, and the current behavior situation are introduced briefly. The characteristics of this structural type, the restriction for the architectural and structural planning, and the significant matters for the structural design in the case of using this type are described in detail. At last, the future trend for this type is mentioned.
