Two hotels with concrete-filled steel tubular columns were constructed in Fukui. These columns were applied to eight layers above fifth floor at Grander-Hosen that has twelve floors, and six layers above third floor at Porthill-Hosen that has eight floors. The features of the execution method are using the concrete mixed with densified silica-fume and the casting method by pumping into steel tubular columns from a concrete pump on the ground. Prior to practice of work, we studied the mix proportion of concrete, and carried out pumping test with full scale steel tubular columns. In this report, the results of studies, the manufacturing and quality control method of concrete, in practice work and the results of casting these concrete are introduced.
