Abstract
Abstract The purpose of this study is to clarify the lifestyle intensions of Farm Helpers, who work in farm as casual labors mainly in summer season, by the questionnaire and interviews. Due to depopulation and aging communities, it’s important for farmers to employ people from outside and also for keeping and increasing inhabitants in rural area. People who work as Farm Helpers are classified into four categories, namely focusing Farming experience, living life in Furano, earning money and others. It is found that there are those who have a new life style such as working as a Farm Helper in Furano during the summer and moving to other rural areas where there is any other jobs in farming in winter, which could be seem as a seasonal migrating worker. Although that kind of way of working styles have been negatively recognized as unstable employment, it is necessary to reconsider from the viewpoint of individual labor intention that emphasizes work - life balance.
