Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between the Satisfaction with School Life Scale (SASLIS) and the University Personality Inventory (UPI). The Satisfaction with School Life Scale (Kawamura, 2010) and UPI (Japan University Health Association, 1966) were completed by 222 undergraduates (64 male, 158 female) enrolled in teacher-training course at one university. The Satisfaction with School Life Scale can classify the students into four groups, "Satisfied with School Life", "Unapproved as a Classmate", "Recognizing Infringing Behavior", and "Unsatisfied with School Life." The results were as follows: ANOVA showed that "Unsatisfied with School Life" groups had the highest scores of the UPI, "Satisfied with School Life" group got the lowest scores. From the above results on the characteristics of the mental health of the students, it is necessary to research the screening system about university's student characteristics.
