Abstract

The purpose of this study was to consider the counseling process for a client who was mistreated by his father in early childhood. In this case, the therapist could not consult the client because he felt sick and had a flashback of bad memories when the therapist approached the topic of student's abused experience. In order to help the client, using Transactional Analysis in which driver is said to ease the covered injunction, the therapist prevented the abused person from starting his impulsive behavior. Furthermore, using “Fast Phobia Cure” of NLP, the therapist provided relief for the student's terrible memory. After using these two techniques, the therapist chose EMDR finally with SUDS (Subjective Unit of Disturbances), which is a self-assessment tool to measure the intensity of distress or nervousness. EMDR is said to have greater relief effect on a client's mind; however, it was not easy to use it when the client often had a flashback and started impulsive behavior. With this process, the therapist was able to come close to client's memories of being mistreated and brought him relief.
