Abstract
This paper investigates the transition of concept about RE(Residential Environment) using Asahi news articles corpus. 1,249 news articles searched by RE were collected and analyzed for this purpose. The result demonstrates that with the increase of concern about "environment" issue, RE also has been focused in the mass media. In particular, the increase of articles about "amenity" is striking in this period. Using these outcomes, the comparison between "the issues of social concern about RE" and "its countermeasure in housing policy" was conducted through the Housing Construction Five-year Programs. The result shows that the political countermeasure by public intervention like a "coordination function", such as consensus-building systems, is more required in housing policy planning.
