Abstract
This study aims to develop and apply the improved system, SLIM CITY (Smart Layout Indicators to Materialize Compact City), to evaluate urban consolidation projects in residential scale. Though the basic specification of the system had already examined, this is the first trial to apply the system to general municipality, namely Toyota-city. Several scenarios concerning compact and dispersed urban form are examined from a set of evaluation variables. The influence of transportation improvement is also examined. Moreover, it is clarified that the system is very stable and reliable.
