Abstract
The increase in the vacant spaces in redevelopment buildings has become a problem in Japan. This study is aimed at clarifying effects and problems of the public facilities introduced to the vacant spaces in the redevelopment buildings. We have conducted the questionnaire and interview survey to the municipalities in Osaka Prefecture where the urban redevelopment project and the introduction of public facilities in redevelopment buildings has been completed. Based on the survey results, the reason why public facilities are introduced into vacant space without store occupancy by municipalities has been clarified. Moreover, in order to actualize the activation of redevelopment buildings and the effective introduction for subject solution, the importance of cooperation from municipalities, management companies and private tenants has been realized.
