Abstract
Semba, mainly known as the commercial center of Osaka, is where the square grid block was developed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and still remains its historical architectural features. Due to the incentive systems such as Semba building rested and comprehensive design system, there is a unique style left today that large and smell blocks are coexisting, which might adversely affect the townscape of Semba. Therefore, we will investigate what kind of blocks are still remained in Semba district. In addition, we will further analyze and evaluate its influence of the blocks. Our analysis will be used as a reference for future attractive urban space formation method in Semba.
