Abstract

In recent years, Community management has been attracting attention with the aim of increasing the sustainability of communities. One such initiative is community business (CB). However, it is difficult for governments and other organizations to support activities that use business methods for community development within the concept of CB. In this study, we defined "community development business" as a business that meets the follows: 1) Limited area of activity. 2) Aiming to solve community problems and improve the attractiveness of the community. 3) Profitable. Based on the results of case studies of community development businesses, the requirements to be fulfilled by community development businesses are divided into essential requirements and incentive requirements, and the possibility that these requirements can be used as evaluation indicators for the government's future support of community development businesses is described.
