Gas barrier mechanism of mica coat film

Abstract

The film coated with tabular particles comes to attention as a new gas barrier material. Especially, synthetic mica by melting method is suitable for gas barrier film because it has a high aspect ratio. The mica coat method is excellent for the following reasons, (1) doesn't crush the mica particles, (2) make them concentrated in coat area, (3) make them arranged to parallel for surface. Therefore, the mica coat film has better gas ability.
