Abstract
Trans-2-butene-1,4-bis(triphenylphosphonium)-saponite intercalation compound was synthesized by cation exchange reaction between synthetic Na-saponite (Sumecton SA) and trans-2-butene-1,4-bis(triphenylphosphonium) dichloride. Quantitative cation exchange reaction was shown by the increase in the basal spacing and elemental analysis.
