For the process represented by the step response function Gp(s)=Kpe-LS/(1+Ts), a calculation method is suggested on the performance index which is the sum of squared-digital PI control error sequence.
By using this method, the performance index is calculated so fast that the optimal control parameters minimizing the index are obtained by on-line computation.
