Abstract
Recently, local governments have expanded subsidy programs related to vacant houses—for example, subsidies
for the costs of demolition, renovation, and restoration, the disposal of household belongings, and inheritance registration
procedures. Through these programs, municipalities aim to improve the conditions surrounding vacant properties. However,
these subsidy programs are still not widely known among citizens. Moreover, it is often difficult for citizens to fully
understand the eligibility requirements and details of the subsidies through websites or service counters. To address this issue,
this study developed an Electro‑Mechanical quiz game that enables citizens to easily and enjoyably learn about these subsidy
programs. The electro‑mechanical unit was created by converting a 3D model into a physical form using a 3D printer and a
laser cutter. Then, various electronic components were integrated into it. The game consists of two parts. The story part
explains the background of why the house became cluttered and vacant and then leads into the quiz part. The quiz part
features five questions on subsidy programs related to vacant houses.
