Abstract
Recently, studies examine the relationship between the use of massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) and the ability to solve problems during group activities. However, the contents of existing scales are based on real-world situations, and whether such scales can accurately measure problem-solving skills in the virtual world remains unclear. Thus, this study developed a new scale to measure such skills based on the narratives of MMORPG players through a qualitative research. Furthermore, the reliability and validity of the proposed scale was investigated. This scale will be important when examining the value of MMORPG as a learning tool in the near future.
