Abstract
It was informed by the previous paper that the growth and the yield of the plants, i. e., the paddy rice and the upland rice, are highly promoted by the application of the bagasse-pulp waste liquor obtained from the sulphite-mills useing magnesium salts. The present paper, in order to determine the availability of the waste liquor again, deals with the pots and fields experiments of the paddy rice and wheat. From the data and discussion, the following summaries and conclusions may be drawn : 1. It was observed that the growth and the yield of the plants are undoutedly promoted by the addition of the waste liquor up to 80 cc, especialy 40-80 cc per 5 kg soils. 2. There were no significant effects on the soil reactions and the chemical compositions of the soils by the application of the waste liquor. 3. The availability of the waste liquor may be explained from the many available elements contained in the liquor, such as organic matter, magnesia, silica, phosphoric acid, potassium, calcium etc. 4. The grain yields of the paddy rice plants were increased on the fields about 20-41% by the addition of the waste liquor. 5. From the above descriptions, the present author convinces that this waste liquor is markedly valuable in the agricultural practice.
