MARC : Its implications and applications

Abstract

MARC applications in the United Kingdom, such as LASER, BRIMARC, BLCMP stemmed from BNB [BLBSD] MARC Project, are reviewed, and implications of MARC network is discussed. Functions and requirements of MARC Format are argued in terms of users benefits, and essentiality of MARC standards, as well as local-data/input agreements are pointed out for setting up a MARC network as resource-sharing.
