Implementation of data flagging in INIS

Abstract

To make a search for the document containing numerical data easier, the International Nuclear Information System (INIS) introduced a scheme of data flagging at the beginning of this year. When some useful numerical data are found in a document under input preparation for the INIS, the following items are added to the bibliographic information of the document: a literary indicator "N", descriptors indicating type(s) of the data and the presentation form(s), and "D" labels to some descriptors concerned with the data. The flagging procedures are presented in details. The background and progress of introduction of the scheme are also described briefly.
