Abstract
To clarify some relativities of elementary technologies which constitute various technologies, and the same time, to obtain avairable information for management on research and development in science and technology, an analysis of the data base of REGISTER, which is the retrieval system for ongoing research projects in Japanese nonprofitable institutions, has been carried out. Concepts of the Classification of Science and Technology which is used to analyse the research projects in the data base of REGISTER, methods used in this study, some problems of the methods and also in relation to the aims of this research and the characteristics of research on researches are discussed. From the results obtained, the possibilities of analysis on relativities by these methods are suggested. Also the necessities of improvements to describe research projects and adoptation in certain special limited fields of science and technology, and the line of revision of the Classification of Science and Technology are mentioned.
