Information about ramp traffic is very important to establish a strategy highway management in future and recently, operation control about the main line of a highway through a ramp metering and real-time management control methods such as reversible lane system are continuously increasing. In addition, prediction about ramp traffic is necessary for real time operation control. This study developed prediction method of ramp traffic based on historical data and real time tendency using Kalman Filter, which quickly adopts to change of traffic flow and is suitable for predicting real time traffic.
