Abstract

In Taiwan, motorcycles serve as the primary mode of daily transportation. Since introducing battery-swapping services in 2015, the inconvenience of charging electric motorcycles in metropolitan apartment buildings has been substantially reduced. This development has contributed to the growth of the electric motorcycle market. Over the past six years, electric motorcycles have maintained an average market share of 12%, with 95% utilizing battery-swapping systems. This study uses descriptive statistics and multinomial logistic regression (MLR) model to analyze 567,000 electric motorcycle purchase records from 2019 to 2024 to identify consumer preferences for vehicle specifications. The findings offer valuable insights for manufacturers and policymakers regarding market potential and target consumer segments.
