A new oribatid species of the genus Odontocepheus was collected from gardens of eight temples in Shikoku Island, Japan. The new sepecies, Odontocepheus morikawai n. sp., has 3-5 transverse and 3 longituginal sutures between lamellae, lamellar setae originating from about one-third along length of lamellae, posterior prodorsal margin bearing 1 pair of round tubercles, and anterior notogastral margin bearing two pairs of round tubercles, a pair of sharply pointed projection and round humeral projection.
