Keys to the genus and species of 5 families of Japanese Collembola (9 genus, 46 species of Entomobryidae, 3 genus, 3 species of Orchesellidae, 3 genus, 7 species of Paronellidae, 2 genus, 2 species of Cyphoderidae and 2 genus, 5 species of Oncopoduridae) are explained. The characters, such as color patterns, presence/absence of scales and its distribution on the body, shape of mouthparts, claws and furca, and chaetotaxy are mainly used to identify the genus and the species.
