Antimetabolic action of thiamine anhydride and its aulfone

Abstract

Both thiamine anhydride (TA) and thiamine anhydride sulfone (TAO₂) obtained by oxidation of TA did not show the biological activities. It was studied whether that survival rate was low when the TAO₂ action was tested. When 500λ of TAO₂ in the presence of 5λ of B₁ was administrated to rats, TAO₂ did not show antimetabolic action.
