Photography Book as Possibility

Abstract

We cannot fix the concept about “Photography Book”. One says all photographic illustrated books are “Photography Book”. The other says “Photographic Literature” is only “Photography Book”.

In this paper, I intend to show some authentic form of “Photography Book”. Describing about “THE PENCIL OF NATURE” (first photographic illustrated book) and “Fine Art Book” (it is rarely regarded as a photographic illustrated book), I try to clarify the theme of these illustrated books and to understand how the concept of Photography is used in them. This study is the first step to fix the concept of “Photography Book as Possibility”.
