To map data aggregated in grid square units in Japan using GIS software, it is necessary to prepare grid square polygon data and join them. In some cases, pre-processing is required. A web browser-based tool called MeshDataView3D was developed using JavaScript. This tool eliminates the need for such processing and simply draws a grid map from the data. With this tool, data on the grid square units, including e-Stat data, can be read, and grid maps can be drawn using points, polygons, and 3D polygons. This reduces the time required for map constructions, allowing students in geography classes more time to read and analyze information from grid maps. Additionally, the tool can be used in the home contexts for GIS and geography education, since it only requires an Internet connection and a modern web browser.
