Liquid Crystal Mixture for Color STN-LCDs with Moving Pictures

Abstract

We designed the liquid crystal mixtures for color STN-LCD's with moving pictures using trans-difiuorostilbene compounds (DFS). Especially, they had performances that were rapid response time and good frequency dependence of Vth at low temperature. Further, by using new chiral additives that are phenylpropionic acid derivatives, the properties that were faster response time and the good temperature dependence of Vth were obtained.
