Abstract
The transient behaviors of the voltage holding ratio(VHR) were been experimentally investigated. In sample cells, ZLI-4792 and 5CB(Merck.)were used as the liquid crystal and a kind of polyimide PI-A(Nissan Chem. Ind.) as the alignment material. It was confirmed that in the case of ZLI-4792 with low ion concentration, the transient variation of VHR with the increase of frame number is reflected by the changes in cell capacitance, while in the case of 5CB, which includes relatively high residual impurity ions concentration, the behaviors of ions in the cell predominantly affect the transient variation of VHR.
