2A02 LC Alignment Control on Inorganic VA Film

Abstract

For a projector system with a vertical alignment LC panel, we have studied the method to produce a pretilt angle on an inorganic vertical alignment (VA) film. By trying various alignment methods such as rubbing and UV-exposure methods, we show that an inorganic VA film followed by an oblique SiO evaporation is the most suitable method to produce a pretilt angle for the inorganic VA film.
